Teams and Fees


LFYS does not have pre-set teams. We register players first and build our teams based on who registers. This allows us to register as many players are possible, but it does not guarantee a team will be formed for your child.

Games held April through July 3 during the week. Schedules are set in mid March by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).

Ages Requirements

Playing age guidelines are set by US Youth Soccer and based on the age a player turns in the calendar year. For example, a 12 year old who turns 13 in November is 13U for team placement.

The youngest players LFYS will register are 9U players for a 10U team. Eight year olds are eligible to play if they turn 9 before December 31 (thus making them 9U), but priority may be given to older children when forming teams. Older teams generally stop at 18U depending on numbers of players registered.

Summer League Fees

2023 Fees are the same as 2022, but uniforms are not included for 11U+. Costs include all MYSA and referee fees for games. Scholarships may be available on request.

Player Fee: $180

Uniform Fee: $25/uniform

  • Each player needs a white and a purple uniform. 9/10U registration includes both uniforms. 11U+ can add a purple and/or white uniform (new 11U+ player, outgrown the old one, lost it, etc.) when you register.

Fees Policies

Player fees are due at the time of registration.

Uniforms will not be ordered unless paid for in advance.

LFYS reserves the right to remove any player from its rosters that has not paid their registration fee by the first week of MYSA games scheduling.

Refund Policy

No refund will be given without a written request to the LFYS Board.

$50 is considered non-refundable to cover administrative costs.

The refund deadline is March 1.

All refund requests received after this date will be declined.

In the event LFYS does not place a player on a team a full player refund will be issued.
